AT&T will increase the grandfathered unlimited data plan again (they’ve done it before just last year) by $5 per month. As a result you can cancel your plan and they will waive the early termination fee. See attached letter.
If you are currently on the plan and you are elgible for an upgrade you can purchase a subsidized phone by calling AT&T directly. Then you can cancel the plan without paying an ETF.
I’m seriously considering switching to T-Mobile now that my plan will be $90 after employee discounts.
