You may have seen current RAM prices going up along with SSD prices as well. I have talked to SuperTalent manufacturer rep and he told me that they use Samsung chips mostly and these are in very short supply, Sammy overextended obligations on memory supplies and can’t or does not want to keep up with demand. Too many chips are going to too many devices and desktop RAM as well as what’s used in SSD is not a top priority and so Sammy bumps prices up weekly, other follow the trend. He told me that they (internally) expect prices to keep rising till around March. Already I see prices on 16GB sets up from $50 summer to $75 minimum now and $90 average on the market. Expect $100 and up in March.
