The girlfriend and I are going to be celebrating my promotion at work, in sunny Las Vegas for Presidents Weekend. I’ve scoured all the sites … Trivago, Amoma, Priceline even Hotworie and couldn’t find anything decent for that weekend. Everything 4 star or higher was going for $220+ and some of it wasn’t even for anything spacious or new. Old casinos are going for $175 daily average for Friday and Saturday (like Harrah’s, Flamingo etc) … This hurts especially with the manditory $39 dollar resort fee added on at the end to virtually every property on the strip.
Anyway, I saw a deal for the Venetian from Cheaptickets and was able to get a Deluxe room for $180 a night. (They have a promo code which takes 13 to 30% percent code is "Cheers" at checkout ). I ended up booking that offer first but then I went to the actual Venetian website and found they were doing a buy 2 get a 3rd night free promotion (when signing up for the mailing list). This would take an additional $60 bucks off for the same Deluxe room. To my delight, tax wasn’t being collected for the 3rd night bringing the actual total down even more … I still think the mandatory daily resort fee is still charged (need to find out).
I cancelled my CheapTickets reservation and booked this instead. Friday Saturday and Sunday (2/17 – 2/20) came out to $160 a night average in either the Venezia Tower or the Main Deluxe tower. This is pretty awesome for The Venetian on the weekend with today’s market and is ironic it’s cheaper than its sister hotel Palazzo. Valentines weekend isnt blacked out either.
