Home depot has the Defiant SunSmart 8 Amp In-Wall Digital Timer with Motion Sensor on sale for $9.97. In store stock is YMMV – I cleaned out My Store’s stock.

The programmable timer by itself is $19.97, so buying the combo is the cheaper way to go. Since I don’t need the motion sensor, but logically I went with the combo and install the timer only. This timer needs the neutral wire (white) to work, so it may not work for the older house that electrical wiring system does not use the neutral wire. I wasn’t sure my house has it or not since the malfunctioned Intermatic programmable timer wasn’t using the neutral wire but once I opened up the wall light switch plate and pull out the old timer, I saw there are white wires inside are being used for other light fixtures.
