Nashbar has the Michelin Pro4 Road Tire (Service Course) tire on sale for $25.99, with free shipping at $49. Sizes 700×23 and 700×25 available.

This is a top rated "every day" or training tire that can take the demands of road riding. This tire typically goes for $35 on sale or $45 regular, so that makes it pretty cool. Most wheels will take the 700×25 and that’s what I’d recommend for most people. Not as fast, not as light, but better ride.
You might want to throw in one or two of these as spares for $5 each

It’s not a great tire, but you can keep these on the shelf for those "just in case" moments.
There are some other good ones I like better – here’s the 700c list

and one of the good ones include
Continental Ultra Sport Road Tire $11 – I’ve put a lot of miles on these with good results.

While you’re at it, you might as well pick up a tube or two. They’re not on sale, but the Nashbar tubes at under $5 are ok

They have bike pedals on sale, so check it out. For newbies to clipless pedals, I recommend the Shimano R540. Inexpensive at $32 and very easy to use http://www.nashbar.com/webapp/wcs…000000004
Finally, my favorite water bottle is one sale – Camelback – buy two of these

Spring is almost here! Happy cycling
