This is a newly redesigned 14mm full frame Prime lens that has been shrunken to take advantage of mirrorless camera mounts and to reduce barrel distortion compared to the older 14mm F2.8 Manual lens. Obviously they added native AF and in-camera Aperture control for fully automated shooting, which is the biggest differentiator from the old lens. Unlike old lens, this one is Sony E mount exclusive.
This is a great price as comparable offerings from Canon and Nikon cost up to $2,100
