Verizon Fios just announced their Gigabit Internet service this morning: http://www.verizon.com/about/news…peeds-they
Looks like it’s an improvement upon their "Instant Internet" speeds and with better availability.
Details:
Speed – "downloads as fast as 940 Mbps and uploads as fast as 880 Mbps"
Price – $69.99/month for just Internet, $79.99/month for "triple play" (Internet, TV, home phone) when you order online (goes up to $84.99 in 2nd year)
Availability – "over 8 million homes in parts of the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Richmond, Va., Hampton Roads, Va., Boston, Providence and Washington, D.C. areas"
Other Notes:
"In areas where Fios Gigabit Connection service is available, Verizon now offers two tiers of standalone Internet service – 50 Mbps for $39.99 a month and Gigabit Connection for $69.99 a month when ordered online."
"Existing customers with Instant Internet service today will automatically receive Fios Gigabit Connection and will see their bills lowered."
Had trouble finding a phone number or link to a cart on that press release above. Looks like their sales site has both: http://fios.verizon.com/fios-speeds.html
