This is a decent price on a entry level kit that covers all the bases. The batteries are small (2.0ah), but with a ebay pick up a 5.0ah battery you’d be set. Ends 5/17/17
If you already own DeWalt tools, do not get this set, get the starter kit and bare tools to flesh out or upgrade your set ( ). This is for new buyers exclusively.
Comes with:
1 – DCD780 20-Volt Max 1/2 in. drill/driver – note this is the upgraded economical version, NOT the cheap throw away DCD771.
1 – DCS381 20-Volt Max reciprocating saw – note this IS the cheap version where the shoe cannot extend and the blade can only be oriented up and down, not 4-way.
1 – DCF885 20-Volt Max 1/4 in. impact driver – note this is the typical workhorse in the DeWalt 20v brushed line.
1 – DCS393 20-Volt Max 6-1/2 in. circular saw – note this is the cheap version without the magnum shoe and the inch markings are much poorer than the bare tool or upgraded kits.
1 – DCB112 12/20v charger – note this is the second slowest charger, but it does the job. See my personally compiled and tested comparison chart (second image) for all batteries and chargers.
2 – DCB203 20v batteries – these are the standard 2.0ah batteries same size as the 1.3ah and 1.5 ah but with a bit more juice and the fuel gauge, the best for drills and lights since they are lighter than the big batteries.
1 – Carrying bag – note I personally have this bag it has pockets both inside and out and runners on the bottom, though this is NOT the one that has a shoulder strap, and would be a tight fit with all the tools that come with this, so don’t expect to fit more.
Personally, I see about $50-$90 resale value (after taxes) pieced out, so it’s not the best for reselling, but great for someone just starting their tool collection. I have owned and used every tool here and upgraded to the brushless and 60v versions, great tools, great customer service.
CamelCamelCamel – shows the lowest is $280 for this kit, but it doesn’t run outside of third party sellers there.
Goes for typically about $450+ but that is a rip off.
