So usually I wait for the after Christmas clearances to stock up on extension cords, but one of my dingbat teenagers managed to clip through 3 of my disposable cords this week with the electric hedge trimmer, so I decided to go shopping. After checking all the regular suspects, I settled on this one:

Go Green Power brand 25′ 16 gauge 3 prong grounded indoor/outdoor extension cord (orange w/green lighted ends) from Home Depot. Price is $6.68 + tax with free shipping to my local store for pickup, two of them totaled $14.20 with tax. This is a light duty cord rated at 10 amps, the ends light up green when connected to power. Should be suitable for basic household use and cheap enough not to sweat over, long enough for most uses but short enough not to be too bulky to transport.
Comments welcome, especially if someone would like to chime in with specifics about amps and capacities; if you just want to moan about how it’s not adequate to power your automobile crusher or not long enough to reach your off-grid power generation windmill on the back forty, please spare all of us the agony and just leave a TD.
