Noticed Best Buy for today has the newer Macbook Pro’s for $100 off today. Combined with the $100 student discount coupon; that brings the 128gb sdd and 8gb ram model from mid-2017 down to $1099 which doesn’t seem bad. Most comparable ones are the previous gen with those specs at that price:
