Not sure how many they got. It’s gamestop so you either are ok with them or hate them. But ain’t bad for an open box. I personally paid the same price for an i3 and am still happy with it. I also believe that this will be the best VALUE ever. Nobody could ever pack in so much power in such a little chassis without overheating issues. Actually this probably is as good as it could get.. I wouldn’t necessarily get any hardware above these specs in this little box. Until they come out with smaller technological nodes at least (which probably won’t be until several years and will come at a hefty price anyways). For this money, nothing can beat it.
Points:
1. Only good if you want something better than a steam link (i.e. not dependent on turning on two devices). You can use this as a Steam Link or as an independent unit that can play 1080p on its own. Can play >90% of games out there for PC.
2. If you really want a PC that’s console-like in the living room that’s petit.
3. You are willing to mod a few things (hardware: SSD and RAM — Probably $100 + $20, software: Windows 10 which can be on sale now and then for cheap for roughly $15-$20 if you look hard enough).
4. Not 4K. You will have to look at the Alienware Alpha R2 for that but it is much more than $600. Haven’t checked that lately because it’s not within price range I consider slickdeal.
Summary: Looking for a value gaming desktop for the living room that needs a little tender care.. this is perfect for you. It can also be used for general computer use and a rather cheap one at that (consider the GPU a bonus in that case).
