These have been used in Europe and Australia for over 30 years and can be used as semi permenent fitting (30 years +) with a breaking pressure of over 800psi. A major advantage to using these fittings, they can be used even when unable to complete turn off the water, such as when you have an older water shutoff and can’t shut off the water at the street. In scenerios like this, you will not be able to solder a copper connection even when using high temp gas like MAP and may be required to wait for your utility to show up to turn off your water, which could cause significant issues with water damage. These can also be easily remove from a pipe and re-fitted many times without damage to the pipe or the fitting.
