I used this myself twice last year and found it very easy – the gift cards were waiting for me at check-in. I just did a sample search for Nov. 15 for one night; prices varied dramatically, of course, but some good deals I spotted:
- The Burrard 3-star – $109 CAD with $75 CAD rebate for first night
- The Sylvia 3-star – $125 CAD with $75 CAD rebate for first night (I stayed here last year and recommend; great location, on the water, service excellent)
- Ramada 3.5-star – $115 CAD with $75 CAD rebate for first night
- Wedgewood 4.5-star – $228 CAD with $125 CAD rebate for first night

- A Maximum of 3 bookings per person is enforced – all subsequent bookings will be converted into normal Best Available Rate bookings (and will apply the corresponding Terms and Conditions) and the guest will not receive an AMEX Prepaid Gift Card
- AMEX Pre-Paid Gift Cards must be used within 3 months of receiving them
