Ancestry.com Memberships – 50% off – Starting at $49 (6-mo)

Ancestry.com is a very good resource for those interested in researching family history and genealogy. In addition to wide public record access (and some private collections), they also allow users to view others’ family trees and research which can be invaluable when getting started or if your own family knowledge is spotty.
Personally, I find Ancestry’s monthly memberships (starting at $20/mo) to be prohibitively expensive. However, they periodically run membership promotions of 20%, usually aligned with US holidays.
For Thanksgiving this year, Ancestry is running a 50% promo off of gift memberships, which you can ‘gift’ to yourself. The prices per membership level are:
-U.S. Discovery: $49 (6-mo), $94 (1-yr)
-World Explorer: $74 (6-mo), $149 (1-yr)

Note: When I spoke to an agent earlier this week, they also included a price for the All Access membership level which is not included on the gift membership link. Perhaps this is a sign that a proper 50% non-gift membership is coming soon. But in my experience, ‘All Access’ provides little if any benefit over ‘World Explorer’:
-All Access: $99 (6-mo), $189 (1-yr)
