Some aftermarket generic toners are claiming up to 5000 pages (black) and 4000 pages (color).
Average aftermarket set of generic toners cost ranges from $50-65 which is a bit more than the average toner cost of the budget $100 color laser printers. However keep in mind that that these high capacity toners hold a lot more toner than those $100 color laser printers. By comparing the cost of pages or grams of toner (if you are refilling), this would be more cost effective overall or quite competitive.
