Chevy Trax LS for under $15,000 Chevrolet Equinox LT or GMC Terrain for under $20,000 Chevy Trax LT or Buick Encore for under $16,000
If you are in the market for CUV (compact utility vehicle) or SUV, they now is the time to get one! I have posted up realistic prices that you can get these vehicles for. The Chevy Trax LS model can easily be had for under 15K with some negotiation. It is a very basic vehicle and does not even have cruise control!
I would step up to the Chevy Trax LT with convenience package model or even better the Buick Encore Preferred model. The Buick has a better warranty than the Chevy. Both of these can be had for under $16K with some strong negotiation skills. The Buick Encore Preferred comes well equipped as is. Both vehicles get fantastic gas mileage, easy to maneuver and get excellent safety data with 5 star rating.
Some people complain how slow they are. There is a fix for both the Chevy and the Buick. For the Chevy, they have a flash that can increase your power for $300. With the Buick, they have this option too, but you can get the more powerful direct injection engine. It does not get much better gas mileage than non-direct injection engine, but gives acceptable power. You can get a flash from Trifecta or Bad News Racing to give it even more power! Keep in mind that the optional more powerful engine will add about $1000 and hard to find right now.
If you need a larger vehicle, the Chevy Equinox or GMC Terrain might work for you. The Chevy has a 1.5 turbo engine that gets similar gas mileage compared to the Trax/Encore. It has a lot more room all around. You can easily get a the Equinox or Terrain for under $20K. If the 1.5 turbo is too slow for you, you can get the 2.0 turbo engine which is a lot faster. However, you will be in the low 20s for this engine option.
Keep in mind to get the great prices, you need to own or lease a 1999 or newer competitor vehicle. You don’t have to trade it in, but to get the crazy advertised prices like $13795 for Buick Encore, you need a trade in too. All of these deals require financing, but you only have to finance $7500 for 3 months. Also, keep in mind most of these prices do not include dealer fees which vary from $199 to $1300 extra. Act fast as Monday is the last day for the deals!
