I was shopping for a Rav4 for my nephew. I searched everywhere and they were offering used Rav4 with 20k miles+ for more than $20k. Went to a couple website and found Limbaugh Toyota in Birmingham, AL with $5250 off MSRP on a brand new Rav4. I was so happy but it got better.
I emailed Limbaugh and asked them for an OTD price. A nice gentleman came back and gave me an even better price $19894 + $598.50 (doc fee) + ttl. That gentleman gave me a price of $19894 + $598.50 (doc fee) + $1229.55 (taxes) = $21,722.05 OTD
I don’t want to bore you guys with all the matching price info. I was turned away by many dealerships. Anyway, I finally got Bob Tyler Toyota in Pensacola, FL to matched it (one salesman turned me down before). However, my OTD price at Bob Tyler is even better than Limbaugh. The MSRP was $25,695, I paid $21,722.05 OTD at Bob Tyler. That included dealer (doc) fees, taxes (7.5%) and tag transfer ($175).
Actually, the gentleman at Limbaugh only calculated 6% sales tax for me. So, my nephew would have to pay the extra 1.5% at DMV and $175 for tag transfer. I don’t know how much the doc fee at Bob Tyler but let put it at $499. My price would break down as sale price $19580 + $1468.50 7.5% taxes + $499 doc fee + $175 tag transfer, all that would weirdly equal $21,722.50.
I cannot give out the gentleman name at Limbaugh Toyota as I haven’t got his consent yet. The person that I dealt with at Bob Tyler was Paul S. There are 2 Paul’s at the dealership so make sure you ask for Paul S.
I don’t know if I’m allowed to post these kind of posts. Mods, just move it to wherever you guys seem fit or delete it if it doesn’t belong on SD.
You can PM me if you need any other info.
Sorry for the long post, GOOD LUCK ALL!
