This is about $30 less than what it can be found for elsewhere without the motor. This is an excellent beginner telescope. This 114mm Newtonian Reflector design is much better than the 60mm or 70mm refracting telescopes that are most often considered entry level. Having a motor allows the mount to keep the telescope pointing at the object as the Earth spins over time. You can get excellent views of the Moon and Mars, as well as half way decent views of Jupiter and Saturn.
