I was looking to get another carseat and have purchased various seats from Diono, Chicco, Graco, and Clek. I liked the Diono Rainier the best, so after it came back on the market following the recall, I kept an eye on it for purchase.
Just noticed that the current gen (2017) Rainier has been moved to the official US Diono website’s outlet section, and is currently priced at $199 with free shipping (and at least no sales tax for me). There’s like 5 colors left to choose from. The Rainier is actually selling for less than the Radian XRT, which has only one color left and is selling for $239. I just ordered a purple Rainier for $199.
They are also selling floor showroom Rainiers for slightly cheaper at $179. I guess they are trying to clear all stock as they will be introducing the 2nd gen Rainier, which is not in stores yet and does not have pricing available on their website.
