I was checking and the Elite Dangerous: Commander Deluxe Edition is currently on sale on Steam and directly through their website at Frontierstore.net for $14.39.
You can also just pick up the base game for $7.19 to check it out and then get the Horizons expansion separately for another $7.19 if you do like the game. This expansion allows you to gain access to all of the expansion content that has been released so far as well as being able to land on planets. The Commander Deluxe Edition gives you the game as well as the Horizons expansion and some different paintjob skins for a few of the early ships.
This is a great space sim but it gets mixed reviews because it has a kind of steep learning curve at the beginning so people get frustrated when they are expecting an arcade style flying game. After playing for a while you get used to things and I’ve enjoyed it. I have been playing it on Xbox with some friends but just picked it up on the PC to try it with a new VR setup. There is also a deal for a Thrustmaster Hotas flight stick on SD right now too you could pick up if you were interested in getting a more immersive flying experience.
