Controller Works Great
I had a Gen 1 controller. Rachio notified me that they would no longer be updating Gen 1 devices and offered me a good price for a Rachio 3. I took them up on the offer. Installation was a breeze and all my settings were copied over.

Rachio’s Reliability and Convenience Transforms Lawn Care
Rachio sprinkler controllers are among the most useful, reliable technology products I have ever encountered. Transitioning from the prior controller took maybe five minutes, and then the Rachio keeps going and going for years. Weather monitoring prevents the need for rain sensors, and seasonal shifts help manage needs. The app is easy-to-use, and there are no monthly fees. My yard is much better cared for with Rachio!

Best sprinkler controller
I upgraded from a Rachio2 to a Rachio3 so I could take advantage of the new valve monitoring feature. It’s just one more smart feature that I really needed.
Rachio takes away the need to constantly monitor and adjust my sprinklers. I never worry about turning my sprinklers off when it rains, adding time to my zones when the weather heats up, stopping sprinklers from running on windy days, etc.
Buy one, you won’t regret it !

Upgrade
I had the first generation controller for as long as i can remember and have absolutely loved the function and smart interaction of this unit and had no plan to change but when the new Rachio 3 with the function to detect issues with valves that was a game changer and propelled me to purchase the younger unit as opposed to the first generation. I have been a faithful Rachio user for years and when ever i get the chance to tell anyone about the ease of use and the benefits of its function they usually look into the system themselves. I look forward to years of flawless use as i did with the first generation and look forward to experiencing the valve issue detection function.

I have been searching for years to put a wifi based smart sprinkler in. Finally bought the Rachio system. Their support Team is wonderful. I took a picture of the existing unit and sent it to them. In turn they sent me back a picture with which wires go where and which we don't need. Between 5 and 10 minutes later, Done.....I love the ease of the app and the system. Great purchase

This controller is pretty awesome. Once you get it all set up you really don’t need to worry about it. It self adjusts to the weather forecast. I love that I don’t have to remember to make adjustments for weather. The app lets you put photos in for each station which is very helpful if you want to reprogram a specific station. I never could remember what stations watered each area so now I don’t have to worry about that. I am loving this new controller!

This is the second one that I have bought. My first is a 16 zone controller for my home and my second is for my daughter’s home. Fairly easy to install…remember to tape each wire when you disconnect so you can reattach the correct #s. Enjoy.

Great for convenience and water saving
I was told about Rachio sprinkler controllers years ago and finally took the plunge. Sincerely wish I had done it sooner!
Being able to control the sprinklers from the phone makes adjusting/replacing sprinkler heads much easier than the old way of walking to the traditional controller and back multiple times and ending up soaked due to having to walk through the active sprinklers to get to it.
A pleasant surprise that I wasn't expecting is the water savings through the app looking at the weather and suggesting skips and allowing me to agree/disagree to the decision. I like that I still feel like Rachio keeps me in control.
