Best thing ever. I can move my trailer in and out of tight spaces and even store it with the hitch just feet from the fence. As a disabled vet I needed something to help me move my trailer easily without needing help from anyone else. The trailer valet allowed me to disconnect and move the trailer for storage next to my house in minutes. No other product at this price point could have done this.1456901

The product makes moving my trailer fairly simple and can turn it around in a dime. Be careful and make sure you have a strong hold of you drill. I had someone help me and despite the warning injured their hand. As a disable vet with mobility and back issues this product has been amazing in allowing me some freedom.

I purchased the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly.  I have used it once to get a 22 foot 9,800 lbs. rated  GVWR utility trailer into the cover storage slot and it did accomplish the goal. There was operator error, one problem on the black top had a slight angle up to the concrete storage area. Once on the flat concrete, the dolly was not needed it was so smooth and flat it was easy to move the 2,500 lb empty trailer but up that slope was harder than it should have been. What is needed is videos on YouTube on best practices on how best to push a trailer around with a slight incline. That incline is trying to force the trailer back down the slope the dolly brake stopped that downhill motion. Holding the handle up to release the brake and what height the dolly needs to be set at is all trial and error for the first time. How to adjust the tow Dolly height to ensure that enough tongue in on the dolly but not too much. I have a bigger trailer when empty weighs 11,000 lbs. empty but has a tongue weight of 2,000 lbs. so this device is rated too small for moving the other Toyhauler trailer. With a YouTube video online I’m sure the first-time problems I experienced would have been minimized.1695331

I only used it once, and even though it showed on the video as easy to use it’s not. This utility trailer empty at the Max is 2,500 lbs the RV lot has a concrete parking slot under the covered parking feeding up to the concrete is asphalt. Once the unit is connected to the trailer using a 2 516 hitch ball receiver and the spanner wrench is used to tighten up the plate under the trailer tongue, the Valet will not stay directly under the ball receiver, it wants to drive the trailer with the valet at a large angle. With the valet pushing up a slight incline its at an angle so pulling up on the handle is difficult. If you don’t pull up the handle hard enough the brakes are set. But as you pull up on the brake handle the angle gets worse. My guess is that it’s at a 30 to 35-degree angle from the hitch ball to the rubber tire. So you pull up on the brake handle as your pushing the trailer up the slight incline holding on to the handle and the drill motor while steering the trailer into the slot. My 28 year old son was holding the handle up to release the brakes and the drill motor, while I’m pushing and steering the trailer into the slot. Once the double axle 22 ft trailer tires are on the flat concrete it gets a lot easier, but by then over half of the trailer is into the RV slot. It is not easy to use the brake handle operation is the biggest problem if you only use the handle to steer it would work better you still need the brakes on the tire to stop the unintended movement.

I live in the last house on a dead-end street with no room to back my 21 foot travel trailer onto the street because the street ends at my driveway. I have had to back the trailer about 125 yards when I return from a trip so that I can have the trailer situated correctly in the driveway. Backing down the street between parked cars is not fun and highly stressful. I saw the Trailer Valet XL online and it looked like just the solution for my problem. Now I can pull into the driveway normally when pulling the trailer, unhitch and move my truck out of the way, and use the Trailer Valet to easily maneuver the trailer, turning it 180 degrees, backing it into its space, ready for the next trip.The automatic brake when you release the handle is fantastic, because I operate the valet by myself and I have to stop several times while using it to get my bearings of where the trailer is in reference to the fence and the driveway edge. I use a RYOBI 18v drill that I already had. I don't think it would be as easy just using the crank handle because the gear reduction is so great that it would take a lot of cranking by hand to move it and would be more likely to strain my back. I'm 62 and have no problem moving the 3200 pound trailer around. Thanks!871586

We tried to use it on our trailer and although it worked fine on a flat dry surface, we couldn't use it for the purpose we bought it - to get the trailer into our storage unit which had an incline. Also, the traction wasn't good where the pavement was wet. We ended up renting a different storage unit that we could back up into with our truck, so we haven't had a chance to use the Dolly again.1737202

I have a tight space to put my Airstream Bambi Sport into. After much research I settled on the TVXL25 trailer dolly to help me out. After receiving the unit, I immediately gave it a try and it was amazing! It performed above my expectations. I had absolute control pulling my Airstream out and pushing it back into the storage area. The unit is designed and built well. I highly recommend this product.482259

The trailer valet worked great to help me make a sharp turn and put my 27 foot travel trailer into my shop for the winter. But last spring when I brought it out there is a slight downhill and I needed to turn it and it wouldn't turn so I put the handle down to stop it and it wouldn't stop. I could hear some gears inside grinding. Fortunately my wife was there and threw a block of wood in front of the tire and that stopped it. It was headed for about a 5 foot bank and my neighbors fence. I was then able to maneuver it and make the turn I needed to. The hill it was on was very slight so I wouldn't recommend this for going down any kind of hill unless you have someone to help you, especially if you need to make a turn. I think the tires are to small to grip the asphalt it was on to help it turn. In a couple of weeks we will be putting it back in the shop for the winter so you may want to check back with me then.1185330

Thank you for your feedback. The Trailer Valet is designed to be used on level surfaces and while it may be able to handle a slight incline or decline I would not recommend it with the size of your trailer.

This tool has been the perfect solution for parking our 25 foot travel trailer in our carport. Doing so requires a 90 degree turn, which we could never do with our tow vehicle. We don’t have far to go, so have just been using the hand crank rather than the power drill option. It’s amazing how easily the valet moves the trailer.1401923

This has worked out perfectly for us!
You do have to follow the directions tightening the lock plate up against the hitch to get a solid attachement. I did read some other reviews where users didn't understand how to properly attach. When attached properly the hitch easily holds our 5000 pound trailer with ~400 pound tongue weight.
We have a small sport court that we pull the trailer up onto and then unhook and sneak the truck out around and back the way we came in, then use the Dolly to spin the trailer around to allow us to get the truck out and avoid an impossible backing up challenge. The back yard is NOT big enough to turn around while hooked up to the Truck!
We first bought a lightweight electric dolly from different supplier and although rated for the job it totally failed. The XL Chain Drive manual dolly has done the job.1624273

I was really concerned that I was going to drop a little coin and not be impressed but after doing a lot of research this was seemingly the best approach for me to be able to maneuver my 24’ Starcraft hybrid trailer into a a side pad with very tight angles. Excellent. Very well made and very reliable.

I used the Trailer Valet XL with the 2 5/16 ball on a 5500 lb Lance trailer with a tongue weight of about 600 lbs. Using the drill attachment, it moved well on a flat paved surface and maneuvers quite nicely. I got the trailer into the desired space with one try on my first use. Part of the journey was a grass surface, which was a little more difficult, but manageable with the use of boards under the TVXL25 to maintain traction. It handled very slight ups and downs just fine. It would not handle a significant incline with a trailer this heavy and would not be safe down hill. USE AS INTENDED.
My trailer required the use of a plate (included with the ball/sleeve but not described in the instructions--see pictures) which fits between the trailer coupler and the tightening sleeve of the TVXL25 (See FAQ in Support of Trailer Valet website). The plate opening was not large enough to install it on the ball/sleeve mechanism and required a small bit of "Dremeling", but then worked fine (thus the four star rating). Be sure to closely examine the fit with your trailer coupler to determine if you need this additional plate. It made a huge difference in tightness and stability.
Overall, I recommend the product. You may need to be a bit handy if you use the larger ball and require the plate, but really not a big deal. Make sure the mechanism is rigidly tight and use as directed on flat surfaces. You will be pleased246661

I purchased the Trailer Valet to move my Flagstaff travel trailer through a narrow space next to my house. Works perfectly and as a side benefit, I am able to position the trailer so that it opens onto my patio. Trailer has a GVWR of about 4,000 lbs. and the Valet handles it easily as I pull the trailer over crushed stone. I found that when cranking, sitting on a rolling stool is more comfortable than standing because of the low profile of the Trailer Valet. Unit seems to be well constructed. I have been very careful to steer it only when moving, and then only slightly. If a more drastic turn is necessary, I stop and raise the tongue so that the weight is off the Valet, turn it, lower it, then return cranking. I can see how some people may have a problem trying to force turn a heavy trailer and messing up the tires in the process. 395477

I was a bit skeptical when reading about the Trailer Valet ! But, I purchased the XL version with the 2-15/16" version and moved my 28 foot, dual wheel enclosed racing trailer with ease. I still can't believe how easily it worked. The custom trailer weighed 6500 pounds and inside of it was my racing Corvette Z06 that weighed another 3,100 pounds, so the Trailer Valet moved a total of 9600 pounds without any difficulty. My only advice is to use the Valet slowly with either one of two drills, a battery powered one or a model that is plugged into an electrical outlet. The latter has more torque and one has to keep the long electrical extension cord moved out of the way. I hardily recommend this wonderful Valet XL !!343315

The tires are so small that they dig into gravel, even on a level surface. FWIW, I have a travel trailer that pushed 4k lbs with a tongue weight I'd estimate at close to 600 lbs. I was able to move the trailer using plywood. Just had to keep in mind, "Patience, Grasshopper, Patience."1598925

I purchased the Trailer Valet to move my car trailer with my car loaded in my garage. The trailer moves very well with the hand crank and with the 18 volt drill and also in both fast and slow positions. The only problem I have is that while you are using the drill and the handle drops a little the brake is activated and I almost broke my wrist. The steer/brake handle does not stay in the locked up position but falls down when the handle is held on tight. 323924

We bought this for our Jayco 224BH which is about 4,600 lbs dry.
What I had a problem with is actually listed on the item’s description as a risk in the first place- and that is traction on an unpaved road. So I’m going to leave that part out of the Pros and Cons because I knew of that risk going in.
Pros
Trailer Valet has excellent customer service. They have an online support ticket system and responses are fast. I did have an issue when I first bought it, and they sent a new part right away.
The operation is smooth but you MUST have a strong hold on the crank or drill and the braking/steering handle. If you do not, say goodbye to your wrists. The how to videos make this quote clear. Watch them on either etrailer or Trailer Valet’s website.
The two gear ratios (27:1 and 11:1) are very useful.
The unit is solid and well constructed.
Cons
It would be nice if it was about 6-12 inches taller so you are not hunched over.
Mine came with a bent cylinder so the pawl was jammed and could not disengage from the detents in the gear, which meant the brakes were always on. Like I said in the Pros, Trailer Valet sent me a new piece under warranty and their customer service was awesome and very responsive.

Overall, I would buy this again. I had a hell of a time moving on an unpaved road but it would have been impossible without it and I couldn’t spend $2k on the one with tracks.1551486

When I ordered this I didn’t really know what to expect. I recently purchased a larger travel trailer and I have to park it in a super congested, tight space. This thing did way better than I thought it would and made my life so much easier. The drill attachment is awesome. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the tires don’t do very well on rough or uneven surfaces which would have been nice since I park it in an older storage area with old, worn out asphalt and got caught on some uneven ground a couple of times. It sounds like your trailer coupler uses a 2-inch ball. You can use part # TVBB2 to swap the ball out on the dolly to a 2-inch ball.

I think it was pretty amazing, I was very skeptical. The spot I needed to get the 27', 6500lb trailer in was very tight, 2 ........90 degree turns to get it next to my shop next to my garage. I just used the hand crank and actually had to switch off to the opposite side because the spot was so tight. Ability to switch the crank handle to the oposite side is fantastic.1302381

This trailer valet is an awsome machine. If you have trailers that have to be put into a tight spot this is the tool you need to get the job done. I have a 18.5 foot toy hauler and to put it in the shop for the winter, I used to use my skid steer and had to get in and out to see where the back corner was and if I was close enough to the wall. After having this for a year and using it several times it is still doing the job I want it to do. The only thing that I have found to be a problem is that it is very hard to turn the valet at a 90 degree angle to the item moving and move it. If I only try to to do about 75 degree turn into the place where it will be stored it works awesome. Would still highly recommend this to anyone having to put a trailer in a tight spot.
