This book is pretty pathetic. Its a mix between "diary of the wimpy kid", "clockwork", and "Harry Potter" which really doesnt make a good combination. The main caracter allways seems to feel like people are out to get him and ruin his life. Sure his family life isnt great but it doesnt mean that he has to bend to his brothers every will... And than in his fear he just discocers "superpowers"? Sounds like a childhood fantasy for pathetic losers. Only good point in the book is "follow your dreams"

It's not worth it I have been listening to the Morgan Rice Audiobooks for a while now, The Sorcerers of Ring, Age of the Sorcerers, Kings and Sorcerers, etc. So I thought that I would enjoy listening to Oliver Blue and the School of Seers, and boy was I wrong. Usually, Morgan Rice’s Books are made for teenagers and young adults but this series is more suited as a children’s book aged 5yrs to 12yrs. Yes, it’s filled with magic, love (could have left the love out of the series), humour, heartbreak, tragedy, and way too much destiny. Oliver Blue is an 11-year-old boy and what boy at that age falls in love with the opposite sex. At that age, He would be more likely to have a crush on his history teacher. The story in a way is extremely ridiculous and in no way makes sense. Who in their right mind would allow a child to run away and live with 2 old men, if a child turned up on my doorstep, no matter who they were. I'd drive them straight home. Now if Oliver Blue’s real parents are Maggie Oliver and Teddie Blue, why do his adoptive parents have the same last name “Blue” I have the feeling that the author didn't think this one through when first started writing the first series of books. In conclusion, I give Oliver and the School for Seers 2/10. It reads like a child's book, the narrator tries to make it interesting but does a very poor job of it, It's very naive and not worth the money. I'd say like most Morgan Rice Books, they are all long-winded and the author has self-published all their books because no book publisher would.

It's a children's book but whoever love to read this genre can actually try it. It's kind of like Harry Potter. Whoever undergoes kind of life like the main character will surely relate to the story. It was like the story is a way out of the reality we don't like. But I do understand why others rated the story low because I guess it's not their type of genre cause it's actually about kids and dreams. The only thing I do not like about the story is the "childhood crush thing" of the character made in the story is kind of forced. It's just so cringey that it doesn't sound natural anymore. 😕 I think that kind of thing will only work when the character is fully developed in the following books.
