HiDef Lifestyle via Amazon has most of the Monitor Audio Bronze range of speakers discounted approximately 25%. Most come in either black or walnut:
Bronze 2 Bookshelves (pair) : $375 (normally $500)
Bronze 5 Tower (ea) : $311 (normally $415)
Bronze 6 Tower (ea) : $413 (normally $500)
Bronze Center : $225 (normally $300)
Bronze W Sub : $547 (normally $729)
Ships free and there was no tax for me (in Texas). Check out their reviews on Crutchfield and WhatHiFi (among others).
These don’t get much play on SlickDeals and don’t seem to be widely known in the US, but I’ve been in the market for some entry-level audiophile speakers and have had my eye on the Monitor Audio Bronze line for a while. Efficient, well-constructed, crisp but not piercing treble with strong mids and lows as well, and competitively-priced. They tend to get discounted in the Fall (maybe to make way for an annual model refresh), and the price discounts for this year just hit. I already picked up the Bronze Center on sale a while back to see if I liked it before buying the rest, and it’s incredible on its own (especially for more sparse singer-songwriter type content which takes better advantage of the voice-optimized sealed center). I just ordered the 5′s now that they’re on sale (I’ll be pairing this with a Monoprice Monolith 10" sub so I don’t think I need the low-end performance of the 6′s). I highly recommend the walnut finish if it goes with your setup, really beautiful for this class.
