Amazon Fire Tablet Trade In deal ($10 Amazon GC plus 20% off replacement tablet price)

Not really a SD per se, but more of a FYI:
My 2016 32GB Amazon FireHD 8 tablet’s battery was getting very slow with recharge so I’ve been looking for possible alternatives.
The best tablet value still seems to be the Amazon Fire HD8 according to my research ( link ). After speaking with Amazon I found out that I could get the newest 32GB Fire HD8 (8th generation) for $80 shipped if I turned in my old Fire Tab.
At the top right corner of any of the Amazon Fire tablet adds that you see on Amazon you should see a clickable box that says "Upgrade and Save with Trade-In." A new screen should appear asking you which tablet that you’ve purchased from Amazon in the past that you want to trade in. After going through the process you should obtain an Amazon $10 GC and 20% off a new tablet.
Not really impressed with the BF deals for tablets the last two years so I decided to stay with the Fire tablets which get a lot of love from both critics and users.
I also easily wiped away the Fire OS skin, stopped annoying adds, added a new launcher and debloated some of the craptacular Amazon apps. This was done by:
1. Installing a launcher highjack app that forces the tablet to use another launcher (see link to app posted here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/…tcount=395)
2. And by using the very handy Fire Tool Kit 6.1 which is very easy to do if you have a PC that you can plug your tablet into (see link here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/…0-t3889604)
If you decide to delete the FireOS skin make sure you install an alternative launcher first so that the tablet has a default launcher to use (like Trebuchet or my favorite. Nova Launcher).
These Fire tablets come with some pretty decent hardware. Their biggest issue is the very restrictive skin that Amazon loads onto them which forces you to exist within the Amazon ecosystem at all times whether you want to or not.
This left me with a pretty decent stockish Android tablet for $80. Only thing left is to figure out how to get widgets to work and turn off the OTA updates so Amazon doesn’t "break" any hacks that the tool kit exploited.
