The current price is $1416.40+17.25ish shipping, which makes it $1433.65 + tax. Please be advised that the shipping price is constantly changing between $17-$20 at the time of writing.
I have been eyeing both US/gray market version of this lens for quite some time.
USA version (H-ES200 without E at the end) is $3000 MSRP + tax. It also fluctuates down to $2499+tax quite often. I do not believe it has been lower than that for any meaningful time period. BHphoto currently has USA version for $2499.
The international version (gray market) has been fluctuating between $2200 and $2600 from famous gray market dealers on Rakuten and eBay. I recently saw the lens $2000 on Amazon UK, so I added it on my wish list. Unfortunately, it went back up to $2200 for about a week. And, I see the price dip today as listed.
This lens also comes with 1.4x teleconverter. USA version of the teleconverter alone is $499. The teleconverter is always included with brand new purchase of this lens regardless of USA or gray market. I am just pointing out that it is included in the amazon listing.
If anyone is wondering what it does, the teleconverter makes the range of the lens longer by 1.4x at cost of light stop. With the teleconverter on, the lens will operate at 280mm on MFT at F4.0. (560mm equivalent on full frame). 560mm on full frame standard is quite long and allows you to do sports/wild life photography.
Amazon also shows me 2-year protection for $42.99 or 3-year protection for $57.99. I cannot speak for quality/coverage of these protection plans but just throwing it out there for anyone who may want to check out.
I am pretty sure I may get mocked by a lot of SDers for the fact that I am listing a piece of a niche glass equipment for the price of monthly mortgage. But hey, I believe this actually is great price for the lens. I hope this helps somebody and hope I am giving back to the community for all the savings I made so far Let me know if I missed anything.
