Crysis is one of the most known FPS franchises around, even though the series is now sleeping in Crytek and EA’s basement without a single hint of coming back. The first game gained its popularity among PC players due to it’s impressive graphics back when it launched and even now it still holds up. Not only this, but the semi open-world structure proved to be a positive point that allowed players to explore and approach objectives in any way they wanted thanks to the Nanosuit, an armor that the player character vests and gives him a number of field advantages; players can go invisible, increase their speed or get super strength as the situation requires it. Players are also free to customize their weapons as needed, and they can do it on the go. The story of the first game takes place in a fictional island occupied by the Korean People army in which the player and his squad are sent to recover captives taken by the opposing forces.
In Crysis 2 and 3, Crytek instead decided to take the franchise into a more linear path. Instead of a vast island, players are now set in a urban scenario with a stronger Nanosuit which offers them improved abilities the ability to further upgrade them as the game goes on. In Crysis 3, players will be placed in a real "urban jungle" after a major colapse in Earth. Instead of getting points to further upgrade their suits, players will have to find modules to upgrade their equipment, but just like in the first games, weapon customization still is a vital part of being successful in the game.
Crysis: Warhead, a spin-off of the first game in which you play as another member of the squad sent to face the KPA is also set on a more linear-ish structure, although not as much as Crysis 2 and 3. The game features plenty of technical upgrades compared to the first one and it’s definitely a recommended play for those who enjoyed the first Crysis.
This is the current best price on the whole trilogy according to ITAD and includes the following products once you activate it on your Origin account:

  • Crysis
  • Crysis Warhead
  • Crysis 2 Maximum Edition
  • Crysis 3 Digital Deluxe Edition
  • Crysis 3 Lost Island
