I was looking for a decent 5G phone deal that doesn’t require a change in service or a trade-in. I’m on a grandfathered 15GB AT&T shared plan, which works well for me, and all of our phones are pretty old. So I couldn’t benefit from any of the previously posted deals since:
- I don’t want to switch to an Unlimited plan
- I don’t have any sexy phones to trade-in
- I don’t want to deal with bill credits
Today, I bought a Samsung A71 5G for $9.97/mo for 30 months. It required a line that is eligible for an upgrade, but it didn’t ask to change my service. The upgrade fee is $30, but I will call to see if AT&T can void it since I have a corporate discount. I paid sales tax on the discounted price. Overall, I think it’s a good deal for those who don’t need the latest and greatest phone every year and don’t need the bells and whistles of the Unlimited plan.
