National Pizza Day 2021: Get deals Tuesday and earn free pizza with Domino's, Pizza Hut rewards programs

Kelly Tyko
USA TODAY

Days after the Super Bowl, Tuesday is another chance to save some dough on one of Americans' favorite foods.

Feb. 9 is National Pizza Day and businesses across the nation are celebrating with discounted pizza and specials. Through rewards programs and signup offers, you also can score a free slice or pie.

Until 2020, National Bagel Day also was held on Feb. 9, but the hole-y day moved to mid-January last year to avoid sharing the spotlight with pizza. Einstein Bagel Bros. has a pizza bagel deal Tuesday through Sunday.

According to Google Maps data throughout 2020, the top searched pizza place in nearly every state was either Domino’s or Pizza Hut with Domino's the most popular in 31 states.

Michigan and Ohio are the only states that didn’t have Pizza Hut or Domino’s as their top pizza destinations, Google found. Michigan’s favorite is Jet’s Pizza while Ohio prefers Papa John’s.

California and New York were the only states where “vegan pizza” was among the top pizza-related searches on Maps, Google said.

Last month, Pizza Hut released its new Detroit-Style pizza nationwide in four varieties. Prices start at $10.99 but vary by location. Also in January, Nestlé Prepared Foods recalled about 762,615 pounds of Hot Pockets Pepperoni Pizza.
