3-Designate a gift card amount (minimum of $50), recipient and complete the purchase.

Can I redeem the gift card into my own account?
Yes, individuals can purchase a gift card and redeem it into their own Invest529 account and still qualify to receive the $10 bonus gift code, assuming other eligibility criteria is met.
Where do I go to redeem the gift card?
Virginia529 gift cards are redeemed at Virginia529.com through the Gift Center into a new or existing Invest529 account.
Do physical Invest529 gift cards (purchased at Target, H-E-B Grocery and Walmart.com) count toward the promotion?
No, the "Give a Gift, Get a Reward" promotion is only applicable to digital gift cards purchased online at Virginia529.com.
Can I purchase multiple gift cards that total $50, or do I need to purchase one $50 gift card?
Individuals must make a minimum of one online gift card purchase of at least $50 to receive the $10 bonus gift code. There is no limit to the number of gift cards an individual purchases, however an account owner cannot receive more than the maximum gift code reward amount of $10 for participating in the promotion.
Does the gift card have to be redeemed to receive the reward?
No, the primary qualification for the "Give a Gift, Get a Reward" promotion is that the gift card (minimum of $50) be purchased online during the promotional period of November 16, 2021 and December 14, 2021.
When will I receive the bonus gift code?
Virginia529 will send the $10 bonus gift code to qualifying individuals on or about January 11, 2022. The gift code will be sent via email to the email address on file in Virginia529 systems that was used to purchase the online gift card.
Does my $10 bonus gift code expire?
Yes. Individuals have until February 28, 2022 to redeem the bonus gift code into an Invest529 account.

I have e-mailed Virginia529 support. I am curious to know if the $50 or the $10 is considered for tax purposes. If you contribute $2940, buy a gift card for yourself and redeem it in your account and get the promo in January 2022, is your VA-tax-deductible contribution $2940, $2950, $2990 or $3000?
