I think this is about as low as these have ever gone on sale (I know the X1 hit $150 in a freak sale waaaaaay back in the day). They "retail" for $300. There was a Google Express coupon deal a while back, but other than that or eBay you rarely see them (or even the older models) under $200.
The last time someone posted these headphones at this price a couple of weeks ago, they were sold out before anyone got any and the thread never gained any traction. No idea how many they have in stock, but apparently they are this price until Saturday.
Plenty of heaping praise out there for these headphones. Great sound stage from the open-back design, but it doesn’t give up all of the punch and bass that open-back headphones usually have to leave behind. And somehow they can do all of that while being very easy to drive, so you don’t need a $100+ amp to go with them (might fill out the low end a bit, but it’s not a requirement by any stretch). They aren’t really "analytical", more on the fun side of the spectrum. Extremely comfortable, and the X2 even has replaceable earpads, unlike the X1 (that’s how I stumbled on this deal–after 6+ years my X1 pads are finally in tatters).
Add a V-Moda Boom Pro, and you have just about the best gaming headset you could create for ~$200.
