Normal price at major retailers for this calla light base unit is $149.99, while the extension (without PSU) is $129.99. Costco sells a two light pack for $269.99.
The only difference with the base unit is that it includes the 40W power supply, which can power up to (5) Calla lights. If you need to power more lights from one power supply, there is a 95W power supply available for $79.99 from all major retailers (product 1748830VN).
Like everything else in the Hue ecosystem, this light requires the Philips Hue Hub (or other compatible Zigbee hub) to operate. For those buying multiple lights, or those that already have a power supply, you may be able to resell the power supplies that aren’t needed.
Before anyone says it – yes, these lights are expensive. Yes, there may be cheaper options available. Quality outdoor lighting is expensive, and this is comparable or cheaper to true landscape lighting systems.
