How are upgrades handled?
Minor and maintenance updates are always free. For example, a version 5 license will work for all 5.x.x releases. The Check for Updates feature in Beyond Compare notifies when a new release is available and offers to automatically upgrade. Types of upgrades:
Upgrades to the next major version are generally half price.
You can upgrade from Standard to Pro edition for the difference in price.
Single-platform licenses can now be upgraded to multiplatform for free.
Multiuser licenses need to be upgraded in their entirety. You cannot split up a multiuser license and upgrade part of it. However, an upgraded user may continue to use the older version instead of or in addition to the new version.
