Having just endured the book. I had to see it through to the end to see how similar it would be to Harry Potter. There are too many similarities sadly. Someone needed to proof read the book to sort out the repetitions of phases and maybe pointed out to the author that the protagonist had managed to open one crate requiring his special powers, so he couldn't later in the story. The whole ending involving Hitler is just so ridiculous. It just makes yoh want to scream at the book! Find another book and spend 9 hours reading that instead.

A very good book for beginners......... Surely a book that is worth reading it........ Once you start reading this series, automatically your curiosity will go like crazy as to what will happen next........ SO IT'S JUST WORTH IT! THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY!

I feel it's a book aimed at a younger audience but nevertheless an very enjoyable read and a well written storyline. I found initially it was not dissimilar to Harry Potter; but the more I read on, the more the plot evolved into its own story. I was invested in the characters from the start, and particularly enjoyed the second half of the book however, I felt Oliver went from 0 to 100 and would have enjoyed reading more about his time at the school developing his powers and new relationships. The ending was action packed and left on a cliff hanger leaving me wanting to dive into the next book.
