I bought this charger a month ago at Walmart.com for $39.98 to test out the ‘Battery Reconditioning Technology’. I’m retired and have health problems so I’ve put about 100 miles on my 1994 F-150 in the past 3 years. The constant discharge from the on-board computer and the clock require me to charge the battery every ~2-3 months with my 40+ year old Sear DieHard 6 Amp Charger and it just trickles the current in at ~2 amps because of the sulfate build-up on the battery plates.
This Stanley 15A Charger (Black & Decker makes them and has their own label in red) ” vibrates‘ the sulfate off and you actually see chunks floating in the battery acid. Think of it like the calcium / lime build-up on water fixtures from hard water. This charger puts a solid 15 amps into my battery and then tapers down like a telephone / tablet charger does with lithium cells – computer controlled – and after a maximum of 18 hours it goes into ‘Float Mode’ and cycles on and off.
I highly recommend it from personal experience.
