This is a pellet based system which in my opinion it works well but it pricey for the refills. The only catch here is how many your local Pet Smart has in stock. Mine had 5 so I couldn’t do the buy 2 get one free twice. But 3 for $15.03(w/tax) compared to Amazon at 47 before tax for 6.
