Chicago to Los Angeles or Vice Versa $98 RT on American, United, Southwest or Spirit Airlines (travel Sept-Feb) Nonstop

Several airlines have round trip airfares travelling to and from Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) for $98 including taxes. This is nonstop service. Please be aware that on United Airlines, it is your basic economy fare…which means they only allow one small personal item on board and no seat assignments. In this case, I’d go for American Airlines or Southwest, even. Southwest allows your two free carry-ons and two free checked-bags. Spirit will be my last choice if I had no other choice (i.e. no date flexiblilty).
Travel Availability:
On American Airlines:

On Southwest Airlines:
Go to their website and view ‘low fare calendar’ for your dates. You will be looking for the lowest fare which will be $50 one-way. It will total to $98
For American and United, book it on Expedia , Priceline or direct. Bundling hotel with your air will save money.
