Target is offering free child car seat recycling from September 10 to September 23, 2017. Take in your car seat and they will recycle it via Terracycle and give you a coupon for 20% off on a new car seat, booster, base or travel system as incentive to trade-in. The coupon will expire October 7, 2017 and can be used in-store or online, please see wiki for details. Last time they did this, a few days before the expiration of the coupon they had some really good deals on car seats. YMMV.
We all know how hard it is to properly dispose of a child car seat. Many recycling places do not take the seats for recycling unless you dismantle them piece by piece into their core components. But you can just take them into Target during this event.
