Star Wars: The Last Jedi DVD & Blu-Ray – best prices, special features and compilation list of ALL retailer exclusives and deals!

After "The Force Awakens" came out in theaters, it left many questions unanswered. Who are Rey’s parents? Why was Luke Skywalker living on an island? Who is Supreme Leader Snoke? The answers to these questions made its sequel very anticipated. When "The Last Jedi", episode eight of the new trilogy, hit theaters on Dec. 9th, 2017, people wanted to know more about those questions as well as to see what’s going on with the new characters introduced previously.
Picking up moments after the end of "The Force Awakens", Rey hopes to learn about how to use The Force from Luke while Princess Leia, Poe and the Resistance fleet try to escape the clutches of The First Order. Finn and Rose, a mechanic, go on a desperate mission to save the fleet. Will it all go according to plan and will the good guys live to fight another day?
Disney paid $4.05 billion for Lucasfilm back in 2012 but they have already gotten their money’s worth in film grosses and merchandise sales. "The Last Jedi" grossed over $619 million domestically, over $712 million internationally, adding up to a cumulative total of over $1.3 billion. It was also the highest grossing movie of 2017 and the sixth highest grossing movie of all time.
This is the second movie in the newest Star Wars trilogy, written and directed by Rian Johnson, who’s mostly known for his films "Looper" and "The Brothers Bloom". Lucasfilm is very happy with their collaboration for this film and handed him the reins to make a new Star Wars trilogy outside of the Skywalker saga of films.
Critics agree with audiences on this one, as it got a 91% fresh rating from RottenTomatoes.com. But fandom has been divided by some of the storytelling choices made here. It is not a predictable movie by any means and just when you think you know what’s going to happen next, everything goes in the opposite direction of where you think it is going. The Star Wars juggernaut continues in less than two months, when "Solo: A Star Wars Story" premieres in movie theaters on Friday, May 25th showcasing Han Solo in his younger years.
This movie drops on DVD and Blu-Ray Tuesday, March 27th. There are two exclusive editions for this movie as well, so let’s find out the details.
_______________________________________________________________________
DVD/Blu-Ray Editions:
There are four editions:
1.) The DVD only set (1 Disc total)
2.) The Blu-ray/Digital HD Copy Multi-Screen edition (3 Discs total)
3.) The Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD Copy edition (3 Discs total) – Best Buy & Target exclusive

A note about the digital copy, it will be a code you can redeem on the Movies Anywhere website, which you can then link with your different digital movie accounts on Amazon Video, iTunes, Google Play, FandangoNow and Vudu. When you link them, the films from your Movies Anywhere library are imported into all of those other digital movie sites. So, no matter which digital movie platform you use, you should be able to view the movie on the device of your choice.
DVD & Blu-Ray Special Features:
1.) The DVD only set (1 Disc total)
The movie on DVD. No known additional features.
2.) The Blu-ray/Digital HD Copy Multi-Screen edition (3 Discs total)
This edition includes almost three hours of special features. Here is a breakdown of what that includes:
• The Director and the Jedi – Go deep behind the scenes with writer-director Rian Johnson on an intimate and personal journey through the production of the movie—and experience what it’s like to helm a global franchise and cultural phenomenon.

• Showdown on Crait – Break down everything that went into creating the stunning world seen in the movie’s final confrontation, including the interplay between real-word locations and visual effects, reimagining the walkers, designing the crystal foxes, and much more.
• Andy Serkis Live! (One Night Only) – Writer-director Rian Johnson presents two exclusive sequences from the movie featuring Andy Serkis’ riveting, raw on-set performance before his digital makeover into Snoke.
• Deleted Scenes – With an introduction and optional commentary by writer-director Rian Johnson.

The Best Buy edition features the movies packaged in an exclusive Steelbook case.

4.) The 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray/Digital HD Copy edition (3 Discs total)

Best Buy and BestBuy.com also have an exclusive Steelbook version of the 4K edition.
A special note about all editions of this movie that include a code to redeem for the Digital HD copy: there is a special hidden bonus feature. Rian Johnson talked about it in his Twitter feed. Once you redeem your Digital HD copy of this movie in Movies Anywhere, you have the chance to download a special music-only edition of The Last Jedi. This music-only edition omits all sound, including its dialogue and sound effects, leaving only the Last Jedi orchestral score composed by music legend John Williams. The movie will play with only the score accompanying the picture on your screen. (If you bought the digital-only version of this movie that came out on March 13th, this music-only version is also available to you as well.)

Best Prices:
I did a price comparison on both the internet and this week’s circulars with Amazon.com, Best Buy, Bestbuy.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Costco.com (no listings for some reason), DeepDiscount.com, Frys.com, FYE, FYE.com, Kmart.com/Sears.com, Overstock.com, Rakuten.com, Target, Target.com, Toys R Us, ToysRUs.com, and Walmart.com. Unless otherwise noted or known by me, the prices are the same in-store and online at their respective websites. I noted shipping in the price rankings because of the competition between stores, but I will only be comparing base prices of the movie. Shipping costs will not factor into the price rankings as a result.
Please note that with these price rankings, these prices are as current as I am aware of. Walmart’s in-store prices don’t always match its website prices, for example. As a result, these prices are as accurate as I can verify from the internet and flyers from the newspaper, I don’t put prices in the rankings that I cannot verify.

I fully expect there to be further price changes on Tuesday when the movie is released to stores. This is especially true with Amazon’s prices, which are NOT available online yet. I’ll be updating this thread again on Tuesday and double-checking all the prices.

On a side note, this is why Amazon’s prices aren’t online yet and why they don’t do pre-orders for a Disney owned movie: https://consumerist.com/2014/08/1…-blu-rays/
For example, in the past, Kmart.com/Sears.com will presumably sell all versions of a movie, but there are no listings for it online but only in Kmart’s circular. So I can only rank the price at the store and not the price on the website. I also know from experience that FYE’s B&M store prices are the same as those on their website, so I made one listing for both. In other words, these stores reserve the right to change their prices and I might not know about it. That’s where the SD community can help each other out and if new or different prices are verified, I will edit my post accordingly.
When I checked online, I found no listings for this movie on Costco.com, FYE, FYE.com, Kmart (no sales circular), Kmart.com, Overstock.com, Rakuten.com, Sears (no sales circular), Sears.com, Toys R Us/ToysRUs.com (going out of business) or Walmart (no sales circular).
A note about Walmart’s prices, they have proven to be notoriously regional in the past and they rarely have a weekly circular available online. When it is available online, the circular prices in it are national or mostly national. Hopefully, the prices online will be national, with little price variation.
One further note, Best Buy, and BestBuy.com are NOT selling the DVD but are selling the Blu-Ray and 4K editions of this movie.
I’m making a slight adjustment to my price rankings, as I will now only include the top five prices in this thread. Basically, if a retailer’s price stinks, it doesn’t get to be a part of this compilation list. I will still do a full price comparison to all the stores I listed above, but only the best prices will be included here. So if you don’t see a particular store on the list, it means their price wasn’t good enough to be included. It also means that if their price isn’t included here, you should go to a retailer whose price WAS included on this list and try to get the other retailer to price match it, if possible.

Don’t forget that you can price match any edition of this DVD or Blu-Ray to the store of your choice, if they have a price matching policy. There might also be some store-specific coupons or online coupon codes floating around that could help bring some of these prices down further. Given the price competition for this movie, there are some great price-matching opportunities, especially due to the aggressive price matching policies stores like Best Buy and Target continue to utilize.

Deals & Exclusives:
There are two retailer exclusives this time. Which, if any, will you get?
Best Buy/BestBuy.com:
Best Buy and its website have a Steelbook exclusive of both the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD Copy edition and the 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray/Digital HD Copy edition. They both feature a collectible steel case and the cover on these editions is different than the cover on the standard, non-exclusive editions.
The Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD Copy edition is priced at $27.99 with $3.99 shipping on its website or free in-store pickup:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/star…Id=6169016
The 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray/Digital HD Copy edition is priced at $34.99 with $3.99 shipping on its website or free in-store pickup:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/star…Id=6166202
Target/Target.com:
The Target exclusive of the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD Copy edition includes 40-page booklet includes an inside, behind-the-scenes look at the making of Star Wars: The Last Jedi with exclusive images, facts and personal insights from the filmmakers.
It also features an exclusive bonus featurette called "Meet the Porgs." It promises "a lighthearted look at the development of these lovable creatures." It is unclear whether the featurette is included as a bonus disc or as a something that streams through the Movies Anywhere website. Though all Marvel/Disney Target exclusives lately have the bonus featurette as a streaming exclusive, so I would guess it is that until we get confirmation from someone who bought this to tell us what they found inside.
The Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD Copy edition is in store (on Tuesday) and online with free shipping on orders over $35 on its website or free in-store pickup. Priced at $27.99: https://www.target.com/p/star-war…A-53211599

I included as much pertinent information on this new release that I could find so everyone can make a more educated decision on whether to purchase this movie or not, as well as which edition they prefer.
For those of you who read these threads start to finish, there is plenty of detail for everyone. I’ve noticed that a lot of the questions people put in these threads could be answered if they read the OP carefully. I would heartily encourage you to do so, as it might answer the question(s) you have before you even have to ask.
And that is the end of this compilation, my first New Release Thread for the year 2018. Only two retailer exclusives this time around, thankfully. It should make it easier to decide what edition and which exclusive you might want.

To modify a quote from Luke that’s used in this movie, every word in these sentences is not wrong.
