Generally, Total Wireless’ standard unlock policy requires 12 months of consecutive service on Total Wireless before they will unlock their devices ( see policy )
YMMV However, a handful of reviews for this phone on Walmart’s website ( read them here ) claim this phone is factory unlocked out of the box (due to being a Nexus device) and is not locked to Total Wireless. Some reports there stating being able to activate on Project Fi. YMMV
