This was brought up in the comments of the Prime Day sale but it does not appear to have its own thread yet.
Best Buy has a promotion from 7/15-8/11 that gives a $30 coupon towards a Shield TV when you ‘Recycle’ a streaming media player. I can’t find any fine print about what they mean by that (brand/working condition/parts included, etc…) but details here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/prom…tore-offer
For at least today during Amazon Prime Day they are matching the current Amazon sale price on the Shield with Controller of $179.99 so with the trade in the price should be $149.99. The original poster said he had to show the web page to the store manager to get them to honor the sale price for the coupon.
If you have an old device that isn’t being used this is a better deal than the $140 Prime Day event that does not have a game controller. It is possible that Best Buy will also match that price which would bring the Shield w/remote down to $110 but we’ll have to wait and see on that.
