I read these as a teen. They are some of Foster’s earlier works and are set in the Humanx Commenwealth series. These three are Icerigger 1974, Mission to Moulokin 1979, and The Deluge Drivers 1987. There are a typical late golden age style SF series, which I would consider YA/young male oriented adventures. They came earlier in Foster’s career, and are good light reading. Foster enjoyed having unique worlds with a working ecology as the background to many of his stories, with interesting aliens though ones readers wouldn’t find too off-putting, and characters that would develop over the course of a typical action-style story. These are very good examples of this, and harken back to the works of Paul Anderson and his Dominic Flandry series. For this price you are getting a lot of good, light reading.
