Republic Wireless recently announced their new data-only prepaid sim card, which gives you 20 GB per month of 4G/LTE data, and 256 kbps unlimited throttled speeds after. Available in 30day ($30/mo) or 90day sims ($25/mo). This is twice the monthly data allowance than Mintmobile offers with their 10GB/$25/mo plan. At these rates ($1.25/GB), it could be used in a hotspot device for home internet instead of traditional wired broadband such as Comcast/Qwest.

According to Republic Wireless’s recent blog post above, the new data-only sims run on AT&T or TMobile’s GSM network, which is different than their traditional Sprint network partnership.
NOTE: 256 kbps unlimited throttled speeds is also higher than other wireless carriers, it supports very low resolution (180p) video streaming, and pretty much most other basic internet browsing & audio streaming should be fine.
