Seems Midea is trying to get into the Amazon marketplace. This is shipped and sold by Amazon, but there are not many reviews up yet. Some are mixed. Instead of rehashing that, here is the FP thread on the 8,000 BTU version where people give their thoughts on the subject: Some people there have direct experience. Some give pros/con of buying a somewhat unknown, although Midea does make the Walmart Arctic King brand ( )
Nevertheless, after clipping the 25% off coupon in the product page it makes this AC $213.04 . I did not see another unit at that price/BTU ratio. I decided to get one to replace an older portable AC of mine.

I’m going to take a chance on it. The Square Trade 3-year plan for this is $11.50 . I over-road the Amazon suggestion and bought the higher value item plan for $8.60 ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YBC8NSE/ I’m not sure why the higher cost item plan is cheaper).
