This is extremely YMMV. For those hunting the previous deal and found full price Roku’s it might be time to grab a discounted last year model.
The price for the Roku Ultra 2018 has dropped from $99 -> $49 on Walmart.com. This is true even if the price in store/on the shelf is $99.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Find a Roku Ultra 2018 in store. Easiest way to tell if it is 2018 is to look at bottom of the box for 2018 copyright (see image).
2) When checking out mention that you want to match the Walmart.com price.
3) Wait for the cashier to get override for sale.
Note: Some stores are putting Roku 2019 out early. These are $99 and will not be eligible for any discount. Look at bottom (see picture) to see the copyright year to determine which model it is (easiest way).
Walmart inventory on brickseek seems to be a little bit wacky so not sure how useful that will be to determine if item is in stock.
I was able to replicate this twice at two different Walmart (I was sent to customer service for one of them, other did transaction at the electronics counter). See attached receipts.
