The mouse is a reboot of the IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 with an upgraded sensor vs the original IME 3.0, braided cable, and customizable lighting.
Compared with the Classic Intellimouse released in 2017, the sensor is upgraded and good for gaming. The Classic is not recommended for gaming and it was intended to be more of an office mouse. The Pro also has a gradient color scheme where the top is darker than the bottom. The Classic has previously been on sale for $21.99 so if you don’t plan to use it for gaming you can wait around for that price to come back and save $20.
