This tent will be great for car camping or for shorter backpacking trips as it does weigh a lot. I live in the Pacific Northwest so a tent with a full rain fly is very important, this tent also has a large vestibule to keep your stuff dry but out of the living area of the tent.
I’ve used ALPS mountaineering stuff before, and while a value brand, has always performed really well for the price.
